I have been to this Spa twice in the recent months with some good friends. Located inside the Manila Ocean Park area near Quirino Grandstand and the Manila Hotel, Zenyu is a escape from the daily stress — which for me — can be too much — due to my work as a journalist.

As you can see, getting a body or foot massage is not much of my favorite pastime. (Just read my other entries.)

The Zenyu Eco Spa is a unique experience — not just because it adheres to environmentally friendly products — but also because it has the so-called hotbed.

The hot bed is not actually a bed — it is a hot therapy room, which a colleague actually described as “hell”. The hot temperature, beyond normal levels, engulfs the entire room. It sooths the body, even heals so they say.

Korean-style– you lie on the hot wooden floor to just let your body feel the heat. You feel detoxified, invigorated as you experience the benefits of negative ions which they say– protect bacteria and viruses.

Then you can enjoy the deep-tissue massage which helps you soften up those chronically-tensed muscles, low back and stiff neck. For a package, you can also get discounts for a relaxing facial massage which this Spa offers.

Here they have a machine that checks the capillaries in your hand, and how it reacts to the negative ions in the treated Zenyu environment. More capillaries show that you have a good blood circulation.

About tinamen

I am news reporter, trying to veer away from the daily grind of news. I am trying to make good of the experiences and opportunities that life bring me, and enjoy them. I will try to share in this blog some of my travels, hobbies, and the daily lessons that life would bring. I don't intend to brag, I intend to amuse, inform and touch your lives in my own little way.
